False Positive - MS17-JUN: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer - Windows 7 SP1 - IE 9 - KB4018271 (x64)

@BaiYunfei @Jason_L
According to Microsoft article - https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/4018271/cumulative-security-update-for-internet-explorer-may-9-2017

‘•The fixes included in this Security Update for Internet Explorer 4018271 are also included in the May 2017 Security Monthly Quality Rollup. Installing either the Security Update for Internet Explorer or the Security Monthly Quality Rollup installs the fixes that are resolved in this update.’

The May 2017 Security Monthly Quality Rollup has been installed which fixes this, so this Fixlet should not be relevant.

Can you review urgently pls

I’d double-check whether it’s actually a false positive. The reason being the fixlets for MS17-MAY and MS17-JUN both reference the same KB4018271.

The Fixlet versions of MS17-MAY don’t seem to list Win7 with IE8,9, or 10 (only Win7 SP1 - IE11 appears in the MS17-MAY fixlet titles) and all the MS17-MAY rollups for Internet Explorer appear to be superseded (so they won’t report installation status).

In June, Microsoft released another batch of patches for some EOD products, such as IE10 on Windows 7 SP1. Like @JasonWalker has mentioned, I’d suggest reexamining this to see which Fixlets are being reported, and if it is truly needed.

We can also talk in the PMR channel.
