I have downloaded and installed the required registry setting to enable the ability to view the BES log and the BES folder on client machines. I am getting the following error message when I attempt to use this functionality, any ideas?
This right click tools uses your personal NT credentials when trying to perform the actions. In the case of the log viewer, it is the equivalent of navigating to the \+computername+\c$\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client__BESData__Global\Logs directory and opening the latest log file with notepad.exe.
If you do not have privelidges to do that on the remote system in question then you will get the error you described when trying to use the right click tool. Try it manually, if it works manually then it should work with the right click implementation of it.
Those right click modifications/tools are not “official” bigfix tools and thus their limitations are not really well published. But they are really nice when they work.
