Distribution Wizard Problem

(imported topic written by RHaxton91)

Newbee here…using the evaluation copy…

I am currently having a problem setting up a distribution for XP with the wizard. I am trying to setup for a simple, one file executable. I go through all the steps, and when the Wizard finishes archiving, I receive a pop-up box, with the message, “Problem occurred when uploading file: .”

I am wondering if the problem is the BigFix Console doesn’t have enough memory, since I am running the BigFix Server and Console inside a VirtualBox VM.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rod

Hey Rod,

That is strange… During this process, the console uploads the file to the server using HTTP, which is a pretty straightforward process…

Can you please check the amount of free space on the BigFix Server computer?

Thanks Ben for answering my plea for help.

I think you may be correct in the amount of Free Space on the server. I setup the Win2003 server inside a VM and it probably doesn’t have enough space. So, I’m now going to see if putting Win2003 on its own partition without a VM does the trick.

Thank you,

Rod

Thank you Ben for your assistance. I was able to get things running by placing the BES Eval on a dedicated server and not running inside a VM.

Thanks,

Rod
