Display Relevant Fixlets for Groups

(imported topic written by tscott91)

I would like to be able to see relevant fixlets for a group of PC’s…

For example, I have created a manual group of Windows machines… I want to be able to select that group and then see all the relevant fixlets for these PC’s… Some may only be relevant to one of the machines in the group, some may be relevant to multiple, I don’t really care… I just want to be able to select all relevant fixlets and take action on them as a group.

Does that make sense?

Thanks!

Tom,

This is available in the Console.

When you highlight a computer group, you do see a tab “Relevant Fixlet Messages” that will list Fixlets relevant to one or more of the members in that group.

There is another trick for “ad-hoc” group. If you shift-select or control-select some random computers in the Console, you can right-click and “View as Group” to see the relevance Fixlets.

Thanks for the reply. When I select one of my automatic computer groups BigFix will automatically select the first computer in the list and then display it’s relevant fixlets. I can’t unselect it and have it display relevant fixlets for my entire group.

What am I doing wrong?

There are different ways to access this, so I will describe one of the ways.

Assuming version 8.x.

  • Select domain BigFix Management
  • Folder Computer Management/Computer Groups
  • On the top right panel, highlight the computer group of interest
  • Relevant Fixlet Messages tab in at the bottom right

I will have to recall this for version 7.x.

The feature might not be available for Computer Group, but definitely for ad-hoc group.

So just select a bunch of computers, then right-click to “View as Group”.
