is there documentation that outlines the limitations of the Application Usage Dashboard vs SUA?
Why would someone buy SUA when you can use the dashboard to track apps?

SUA tracks 100,000+ apps and actively scans for them. Native BigFix only looks for apps in a few constrained spots.
SUA provides license compliance features that native BigFix does not.
SUA provides analysis and reporting – in a separate web application dedicated to this purpose – that you can’t get through the Console.
