Deployment failure Microsoft Office Professional 2013

Hi,

We’re trying to deploy Microsoft Office Professional 2013 using the Software Distribution dashboard.

Our initial tests were successful but when trying to actually deploy it to a client in the field, Bigfix doesn’t return any status whatsoever.

When retrieving the log file on the client, one line in particular catches my attention:

   FAILED to Synchronize - General transport failure. - SOCKET CONNECT (winsock error -8) - gather url - http://bigfixrootserver:52311/cgi-bin/bfenterprise/BESGatherMirror.exe?url=http://sync.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/bfgather/updateswindowsapps&Time=22Jan13:35:37&rand=ef50b915&ManyVersionSha1=da39a3ee5e6b4b0d3255bfef95601890afd80709

I see that it downloaded all files as well but later in the log it mentions:

   DownloadsAvailable: false (action id 66761)

Can anyone be kind enough to shed some light on this?

that is a strange error that I’m not used to seeing, but I also don’t usually use the Software Distribution Dashboard.

Have you verified that all of the downloaded files are actually all there and usable. How big are the files getting pushed?
