is it possible to add a subsection into the fixlet menu filter tree?
the reason i ask is that i would like to be able to get a list of fixlets that are relevant to a particular computer without having to: double click on each computer in the computers tab then open up ‘relevant fixlets’, then expand the filter tree; for every computer i patch.
Also, i have a group of computers that will never be patched but i still want to be able to use web reports on them. is it possible to ‘globally hide’ a computer in the console?
The Fixlet Filter tree is currently a fixed view that cannot be modified. We can however add a “retrieved property” that will show the relevant fixlets for each computer.
Please be aware that the effort required to evaluate this may be high so please reduce the retrieval time as suggested within the post.
On your 2nd question: You cannot globally hide computers from display. Perhaps you may want to delegate user access so that certain users can only see certain computers within the console
All you should need to do is set the retrieved property to “Locked” for each computer you never want patched. I think there are a few actions that will take place on “Locked” machines (for instance, a BES Client upgrade).
Master Console Operators will see all computers in their BES Console. You do have a few options to limit BES Console views with regards to the restricted computers:
Create non-master console operators and restrict them not to see the given computers in their BES Console.
Create Computer Groups to include/exclude the computers and use the groups to quickly filter your computer sets.
