Custom Analyses

(imported topic written by hbkrules6991)

Hi All

I have created a custom analysis that we are going to use for inventory. I have created approximately 15 or so properties as part of this analysis. Is it possible to re-arrange the order in which this information is displayed? I created a report based off of this information and would really hate to have to go in and cut/paste column H to column A and so on… Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

In the analysis details tab, you can re-arrange the column order by dragging the column headers around. Or you can right click on one of the column headers and choose ‘Edit Column Settings…’.

These settings are stored per console.

Thanks Jesse, I tried that. Although the columns are situated correctly within the console, it is when I run the report based off of that analysis that the columns are in the order of how I created them in the first place. I assumed that the report columns are setup exactly in the same order as the analysis?

Ah… you’re working in Web Reports.

I think if you right-click edit the Analysis in the console, you’ll see the default order on the properties tab. You could change the order of the properties here and I think it will get reflected in web reports. Unfortunately it’s not easy to re-order the properties on that tab.

As an alternative, I think you could export the analysis, reorder the properties in the XML export file, and then re-import. I believe that will also get you what you want.

No dice on either. I do not have the option of reordering the properties of the analysis, nor can I even locate where to export it. I am quite surprised I cannot reorder the properties when editing the analysis. Unless I am missing it somewhere?

You can export the analysis in the console by right clicking it in the analysis list and selecting ‘Export…’. To reorder the properties in the editing dialog, you will need to recreate them in the order you’d like.

Generally we did not consider it important to be able to reorder the properties in the property editing dialog since you can choose the order you want using the column settings. But you are correct, there should be a better way to select column order in web reports.
