Creating SCM custom checklists

Hello all,

I have a requirement to create a custom SCM checklist for Redhat systems running the MongoDB app. I’ve just started exploring this, but I believe there’s a “Create Custom Check” wizard (believe this is the one from scratch and not built off an existing checklist) that will help with ensuring GUIDs are unique, filling in required metadata, etc.

I had a couple initial questions:

  1. Is there anything available that goes into detail on using the wizard? There doesn’t seem to be much in the forum, and the SCM guides don’t seem that helpful.

  2. I see a requirement to use scripts for UNX-based systems for custom checks. Does anyone know if that’s still the case, or will relevance alone work for the checks like with Windows?

Thanks!

You are right , I don’t see any doc about creating custom SCM for Windows from the Console - Please open a Support Ticket so they could resolve this issue.

Meanwhile , you can use the WebUI App to create custom check - https://help.hcltechsw.com/bigfix/10.0/compliance/Compliance/SCM_App_User_Guide_WebUI/t_creating_custom_content_check.html

Thanks, orbiton.

Yeah, I’m going to see if HCL can do something about this, as their documentation is not only far too light but often contradictory as well.

I also created another post in the forum, so hopefully someone who’s gone through the custom SCM wizards can help fill in the gaps.
