Creating Groups visible for all non master operatros, when they are created by non-master operators only

HI All,
We have an issue there are many personals in the patching team as per the shifts and each time these users create a manual group for a set of computers. Teams are using manual groups for the set of servers they received from the change. Now the issue with the manual groups are, if they are not created by master operators then they are not visible to other non master operators.

We need to create the computer groups from the excel sheet and the computer group should be visible to all the non master operator, when it is created by non master operator. We have the options for creating the custom settings and then using that creating the automatic computer groups but that is not a simplified solution since we have a very big team and this process will create so many custom settings for each computers. We have to some how create groups under custom sites and there we have only two options either to use automatic or server side groups.

  1. Can we use the server side groups to resolve this issue? Even server side groups not have options to create the groups from the set of hostnames from the sheet.

  2. Secondly can we leverage the autoamtic groups and use the relevance code, can we have any relevance where we can add all the computer names and then it will add all the computers in the groups. If possible then please share the relevance?

Why not just paste the hostnames directly into the action Target tab? If you’re using different computer lists for each change request, the relevance to create an automatic group may not be any better than just static-targeting the action.

Computer groups might only be useful if they were going to be reused…would you be reusing these computer groups regularly?
