One or two questions here about port 1433 usage for DSA syncing:
-
Can we configure a different port than 1433 for the connectivity between Primary BFSrv - Secondary BFDB and Sec BFSrv - Pri BFDB?
-
If we can configure a different port, what would be the impact of using port 28001, basically using the same port that is used by Pri BFSrv - Pri BFDB and Sec BFSrv - Sec BFDB?
- I suspect it’s either not something that shouldn’t be done, or it could be but it would be a performance impact.

So SQL is running on port 28001 rather than the default 1433?
I’m not sure whether this has improved in more recent versions of the server installer; but in the past there was a process to accomplish this (running DSA on non-default SQL ports). It involves a manual edit to the BFEnterprise database. See here for details

We have most things connecting to our database (platform server, web reports, etc) via port 28001, but DSA replication is going out port 1433.
We will look into the database table changes your link pointed to, but I suspect we may just want to leave our ports as they are. We were wanting to know to help optimize our internal firewall rules, but it may not be worth the risk.
