Computers not showing up for new user

We created a new BigFix (non-Master operator) user in the admin tool, and set them as a reader/writer within our custom site, but no computers show up for this user in the console, even though the computers are a member of this custom site. It is working fine for other existing BigFix user accounts setup the same way. We are on version 8.1.551.0.

Any ideas?

We already tried re-subscribing the workstations to this custom site.

Have you ‘Assigned Management Rights’ to the Operator in the Console?

Until you “assign management rights” for a Console Operator no computers will accept actions from them.

You can define the Management Rights based on properties of the computers. We use a mix of Active Directory OU and a Custom Retrieved Property based on a Registry Key that the Console Owner can set from the system they need to manage. This way, the Master Operators don’t have to get involved whenever a computer is added.

That was my problem. It doesn’t help they have user setup options in three separate locations. I haven’t seen v8.2 yet, but hopefully it’s better in the latest version with AD integration.

It’s much, much better. Specifically, the new roles feature is practically indispensable.
