When running an action on end users machine, is there a way to make the completed message prompt stay up (not automatically close) when the action is completed?
Scenario - When I run an action that requires to close IE or Firefox, I setup the action to display the message to the users not to open a Web browser or shutdown the machine until the action is completed. But the issue is some users do not see the action complete prompt when finished, so they don’t know when it’s safe to reopen their browser. Is there a way to have the complete prompt stay up topmost until the user closes out the message?
Bigfix provides the “completed” popup message already on the notification bar when the action is done but it is only displayed for about 5 seconds. I wanted to know if there is a way for that completed message to stay topmost and provide the user option to close out message. I want to make sure they have seen the completed message so they know it’s okay for them to resume working.
I would like something similar when setting the “Post-Action” for restarting after action completes. But instead of restart staying up topmost it will show the action has completed and you can set your own message text.
Ah ok, I think I found the proper bigfix way to do it but I think you have to be on 9.0. There should be a couple of BES Client settings that you should be able to play around with:
This setting is the number of seconds to wait until automatically dismissing an action complete message. By default it’s 15 seconds. If you set it to 0, the message should be displayed until the user manually dismisses it.
