Clientsetting.cfg file not working while installing BigFix agent on MAC system

Hi All,

Currently we are trying to install BigFix agent on our Mac systems via clientsettings.cfg file, we are able to see the package getting installed but in the logs we are able to see that my agent is trying to contact my main BigFix server instead of the relay which we have added in our clientsetting.cfg file.

We are able to ping and telnet the relays which we have added in our clientsettings.cfg file.

We have also checked the firewall where the exceptions are given.

Any help will be helpful,

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
KK

What settings are in the clientsettings.cfg file? Can you show the file contents after masking the values? Do you see those values set in the client configuration after the agent is installed?

__RelaySelect_Automatic=0
__RelayServer1=http://relay.domain.com:52311/bfmirror/downloads/
__RelayServer2=http://relay2.domain.com:52311/bfmirror/downloads/

Have used the same from the below url:

https://help.hcltechsw.com/bigfix/9.5/platform/Platform/Installation/c_mac_clients_.html

Can you confirm the relay.domain.com in the clientsettings.cfg is replaced by the actual relay that you are trying to connect to?

If the agent was previously installed then the .plist file will already be present and the agent will use it. If so uninstall the agent, reboot the mac and try again.

Check the contents of /Library/Preferences/com.bigfix.BESAgent.plist to see if the settings from the clientsettings.cfg are reflected.

I will check the same and update you.

Thanks and Regards,
KK

Also make sure the CFG file is a text file. Many editors on the Mac create binary files.

The PKG, CFG and masthead all have to be in the same directory when you install the package
