Clients defaulting to external gateway instead of internal relays

New clients coming online for the first time are defaulting to my external gateway. Is there some where this can be changed?

The agents behavior is different based on your policies/dns… Are you using automatic selection for new agents?

The agents are manual. The the primary is the main Bigfix server and secondary is the external relay. These machines are in the internal network and defaulting to the external relay. Where can I look to stop this behavior?

So they are going to their secondary relay instead of their primary relay (the main BigFix Server?)

You can try to see if the computers can ping the server and see if they can resolve the name properly and connect on http 52311 (http://servername:52311/clientregister)

They are resolving the name properly, just not sure why thye default to the external relay. Is there a way I can force clients to look at a certain relay as they come online? For instance if the computer name for the desktop start with BTF it will look at the relay for BTF server.
