CentOS 5 - BESClient Fails to Start

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

After running the rpm package for installation and putting the actionsite.afxm file into proper location according to instructions… i proceed to start the bes client on CentOS 5.

Ran into a problem with little information as to what is wrong…

root@localhost ~

/etc/init.d/besclient start

Starting BESClient:

FAILED

No logs are created and with my very limited knowledge of non-Windows computers… i’m hoping someone from the forums could help me out…

I ran the same command I used to solve the Fedora 14 issue and recopied the actionsite.afxm file and it started right up… (http://forum.bigfix.com/viewtopic.php?pid=25812#p25812)

setsebool -P allow_execstack 1

I am having the same problem, except the ‘fix’ listed here didn’t do it for me.

CentOS 5.6 and fresh install of BESClient 8.0 and all I get is FAILED.

Hoping someone has a suggestion of at least where to look.

Same issue for us. Has anyone figured out the fix for this? BF 7.1 has no problems on CenOS 5.6, v8 does not start no matter what I do.
