We’re in the process of upgrading our enterprise from BigFix 9.5.7 to 9.5.9. We’ve already done a test upgrade on our UAT system, but now folks can use the UAT system because they locally have the 9.5.7 console installed. Can we install a second BigFix console with another version on the same computer?
I believe that would be unsupported.

Have more than one console installed, or better some downlevel compatibiity, would be highly appreciated. We also struggle on every update with the console installation / update.
What we do is…
- Install the primary console version you need as the EXE installer.
- Install each of the other console versions on seperate computers and then backup each of the program files folder to a file share and rename the folder with the console version appended to the end.
- Copy this folder to computers that need 2+ versions.
Thankfully our Dev, QA, and Prod is all on 10.0 right now, so we’re good… but there was a few months we had 3 versions over the past year.
Also note you can only run 1 at a time, but at least you can have multiple versions co-exist.
