Broken Power Consumption over Time Report

(imported topic written by jonrobinson91)

We have been running the PM for over a year now. I have set up the new PM product per the posted guides and when we go to run a report, the date fields for the consumption fields are inoperable and this warning appears:

“No historical data has been stored for this policy. Historical data must be stored in order to use this report. Consult your BigFix Console Operator to enable Store Power Data Utility.”

However, I do have the Store Power Data Utility enabled. Here is a screen shot:

Hi jonrobinson,

The quickest resolution path for this would be to work with our Support team. That said, here are a couple of notes that may be helpful in the troubleshooting process:

  • The new version of Power Management was released in August 2010. Since you’ve been running PM for over a year now, you likely have both sites subscribed – could it be possible that data storage is running for the old version but not the new version of the site? The Power Management Health Checks dashboard in the new site provides a helpful view for detecting issues with data storage and other aspects of the product.

  • The Store Power Data Utility requires the entry of 3 values in the registry, outlined in this KB article: http://support.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/kbdirect.pl?id=1643.

Hope that helps,

Naveed
