Enhanced automated catalog-less software discovery on Mac OS devices. Now Vendor information is provided, software reported in software inventory reports i.e., Software Classification is shortlisted to applications, and it is normalized against Vendor and Version defined in the Software Catalog. -
Software Catalog version 10.0.10.0
Added capability to discover 350+ software versions for software titles and publishers, such as Adobe, Autodesk, Cisco, Citrix, McAfee, Microsoft, Samsung, and VMware with the use of standard or template signatures (one template covers 10+ software versions). -
End of Support dates for Software Components extended for Adobe, Oracle, Red Hat and VMware software.

New Advanced Server Setting: Delete unused tags automatically to keep only active tags on the list and remove the unused tags

Important: IBM policy update for subcapacity reporting requirements for Virtual Processor Core (VPC) license metric
Effective May 10, 2022, IBM requires all VPC software licenses that use subcapacity licensing to deploy IBM License Metric Tool or any other tool approved by IBM like HCL BigFix Inventory. Manual capacity counting is no longer permitted. Container licensing terms are not included in this policy change.

Actions needed:

To upgrade the BigFix Inventory server to application update 10.0.10.0, run the Upgrade to the latest version of BigFix Inventory fixlet from the BigFix console.

To upgrade the BigFix Inventory scanner, run the Install or Upgrade scanner fixlet from the BigFix console.

To apply new discovery capability, run the Software Catalog Update fixlet from the BigFix console and then wait for the next data import.
