Bigfix clients and relays not reporting

(imported topic written by js_tom91)

We have deployed more than 15000+ clients.

Now we are facing with multiple issues.

  1. 3000+ clients are not reporting to the BES console.

since there is no AD in place, its difficult for managing the clients.

How can we check whether bigfix client is running on the PC with out the end users intervention?

How can I make sure whether the PCs (IPs) which are “not reporting” in the console still exist in network??

Half of the machine out of 3000 doesnt respond to ping request though ipscanner. I am not allow to run

“asset discovery” because of banthwidth issues.

  1. 50+ relays are not reporting.

How can I bring up relays and make it reporting in clients??

For what reasons might relays stop reporting??

How can i check relay sevices is running or not ??

Make sure the health checks are clean and free of problems:

Yes, “asset discovery” is the normal was for finding clients that not running the client service.
You can use the get service command of powershell, to get the services running on the endpoints:

Determining if machines on the network still exist is more difficult because the machine might simply be offline at the moment. But you can remove duplicate computers, and computers that have not reported in set amount of time with the computer remover tool.
