I had to do that a while back with our environment.
Read “Migrating the BigFix Server (Windows/MS-SQL)” for information on the process.
Just be sure that you allocate sufficient resources to the VM, and that you have a good disk subsystem (my preference is Solid State Disks where possible).

The capacity planning guide provides recommendations (see section 4.2.4):
One critical aspect is do not assume your system performs well because the specs on paper look good. We virtualize extremely well, but you are adding another management layer (the hypervisor) and it needs to be healthy. We generally recommend pinning resources to the BigFix instance to minimize hypervisor scheduler impact.

You need to make sure your virtual environment has sufficient speed and low latency for both network and storage. Not just raw throughput, but IOPS and latency matter.
