Best way to install the BigFix agent on Ubuntu

Just as the title suggest what is the best way to install the BigFix agent on Ubuntu clients? I have tried using the NIX client installer but couldn’t get it to work with Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS.

Which version of the BigFix Client were you using?

Have you checked that you are following the steps outlined at https://support.bigfix.com/bes/install/besclients-nonwindows.html#ubuntu

I am using version 9.5.5.193

I have however the first step trips me up. Where do I download it from?

Nevermind I think I answered my own question. I went to the page and the link was there thanks!

I personally use this to install BigFix on Linux/Mac systems from SSH or command line: https://github.com/jgstew/tools/blob/master/bash/install_bigfix.sh

I have been meaning to add various enhancements to this, including verifying the downloads, but haven’t done so.

Oh that’s nice! I love how it has the clientsettings.cfg embedded in it and can easily be modified. As always thanks for sharing James!
