Is there a BESClient for the non-Linux based VMware ESXi 4.1 OS?

We just had a brief discussion with our sales rep and as of right now, there is no way to run the BigFix agent against ESXi embedded or installable.

I wonder if the way forward is to connect to Virtual Center to get ESXi host information into Bigfix… you could then leverage the Powershell CLI stuff to take actions via Bigfix maybe as well.

Interesting point about Virtual Center. We’re currently migrating from to ESX to ESXi and are looking to identify both ‘Hosts’ and ‘Guests’ hosted off Win2008 Virtual Center, that do not have the BESClient installed locally.

Which methods, if any, besides running SQL queries or powershell scripts against the VC can be executed via BigFix natively to retrieve this information ?
