BES Server Temporary Internet Files

(imported topic written by BFAdminCEC)

We recently ran into an issue with low disk space on our BES Server. As I looking into the issue I noticed that we had 100 GB of space in the c:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 . When I look at the files in this path there are a large amount of .TMP as well as .EXE, .BFOSD, .BFTPMfOSD files in this directory. Some of the files are duplicates as well so I can see one of the larger files is Office2010SP1[1].tmp and Office2010SP1[2].tmp.

Is it safe to clear this directory out? I would think that these files would be similar to the ones found in the wwwrootbes/uploads directory just without the sha1 value.

Any input would be appreciated.

Server OS: 2008 R2

BES Server version: 8.2.1409.0

In case anyone comes across similar issue this is part of the response I received from support

The issue with c:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 filling up is an artifact of how net traffic was handled by servers/relays prior to version 9.0 (and was reported to our Developers as # 59906). This no longer occurs in version 9. These files can be safely deleted (they are not needed by any process.

Thanks Support!
