BES Console - v7 change in functionality

(imported topic written by tubs91)

Hello

I don’t know if someone has fiddled with our settngs here, no one has admitted to it but -

With version 6, I could explore to a computer, highlight all of the needed fixlets and select “Take default Action”.

This would then bring up the “Take Multiple Action” dialog box, and all computers that needed those fixlets would be dispalyed in the “Target”.

After upgrading to V7, the only computer displayed is the one I had opened orginally - is this a change to how the V7 console works?

This was obviously very useful as I could select one of our standard computer, take default action on a number of fixlets, and then select every computer that those fixlets applied to, where as now I have to open a fixlet from the task pane and deploy each one individually.

I’ve attached a picture that shows the screen dialog. Well I would have but the attachement bit doesn’t seem to be working?

Hi tubs,

This has to be one of the most hotly debated UI choices in our console and we’ve changed it back and forth across several versions.

See this thread for a long discussion about it all:

And if your curious, here’s somebody who asked for it the new way:

Instead of making it or b, what not put an extra selection? Apply only to selected computer or apply to all relevant computers.
