BES client is pending download of the first fixlet. Never change

(imported topic written by soymm91)

Dear admin,

We tried to push multi-patches to BES client server. But one of our server is failed all the time. After other servers have been patched. It still pending download of the first fixlet. It appears to be stuck at that moment. I check the clientsettings, it is as same as others. Can you help me to investigate this problem? Log is attached.

Thank you!

Hi Sherry,

It looks like your agent saw the downloads were available, but wasn’t able to get the files… Did you happen to have the __Download folder open or a lock on one of the files it had previously downloaded (which would prevent the agent from clearing out the download folder and getting the new files)?

What if you restarted the agent?

Ben,

We have restarted the agent service and also restarted the system. First fixlet downloaded but then failed to download second fixlet. Only MS08-033 installed. Nine fixlets still outstanding for this server.

Hi Sherry,

I am not sure… I think you have two options here:

  1. You can see if using the BES Remove tool to wipe the agent and then install it again and see if that helps.

  2. You can contact support and they will try to figure this out for you.

Ben,

Should we need to restart system after wiped the agent? I am concern about this. Because this is our production system. We don’t want to get any complain from customers.

There shouldnt be any need to restart.
