"BES Client is newer than its registration server"

(imported topic written by taltrade91)

We recently upgraded our server, relays, and consoles to v7.2.4.60. We are in the early phases of rolling out the 7.2.4.60 client to all of our machines. However, the few machines that have this new client are displaying the fixlet titled, “BES Client is newer than its registration server”.

I’m not sure what the problem is because the centralized bigfix server is upgraded and the relays have had the BESRelayUpgrade-7.2.4.60.exe run on them. Also, on our server and the 2 relays, there are no BES-related relevant fixlets listed, meaning there are no more possible Bigfix upgrades that can be run on these machines; everything has been upgraded.

Any other suggestions to address this fixlet? Thanks

Please disregard. the “BES Client is newer…” vulnerability eventually disappeared overnight. I’m not sure why it didn’t disappear sooner during all of my refreshes last night, but I’ll take it.

Hi taltrade,

The client only checks the registration server version when it re-registers. Registration occurs on client restart and periodically depending on your deployment, usually anwhere from every 6 hours to every 3 days.

Is it possible those clients were installed prior to upgrading the server?

Yes, that’s certainly possible. Thanks Jesse
