BES Client behind proxy, BESC relay DMZ doesn't really work

(imported topic written by Supanono91)

Hello,

I’ve got severals question.

First : How can I generate an MSI with the last version of BESClient and also included some preconfigured setting like failover relay…

Second: How can I setup a BESclient behind a proxy ?

Third: I’ve setup a relay inmy DMZ, it works almost fine except the fact that :

The relay got 1 internal IP and 1 external, I want to setup some clients to point the external IP and not the internal, so What I did : an action with manual selection and put the external IP but didn’t work.

Thanks,

Hello,

For #1:

To modify the settings using an MSI deployment, you must modify the MSI directly to put the registry settings in place… (Note that next version of BigFix will allow msis to use the same technique as http://support.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/kbdirect.pl?id=244).

For #2:

In 7.2.5, we added more advanced proxy support for the agent. This is rarely used (because most agents do not need proxies to reach their relays). What kind of proxy are you using? You might try this setting (which should work for NTLM proxies):

_BESClient_Comm_ProxyAutoDetect=1

For #3:

I think you need to troubleshoot further. Have you looked here:
