Baseline not relevant issue

Hi , i have created a custom baseline to install java and monitoring tool agent , for this i created baseline , first task install agent and then install java under the agent dir \c\program files\agent\java\

when i test un-install baseline with uninstall java first and then un-install tool agent it comes not relevant if java i un-install separately or if java is not installed at all in the system due to other reason.

  • How can i make baseline relevant to if one task is not relevant but other is relevant?

I have selected baseline applicable to All computers but components inside it having its own specific relevance.

hi @mail2vij

If you look at the components of the baseline and edit them, you have the option to use the relevance of the component:

Check the checkbox so it uses the relevance of the component.

a quick query into this, i have seen only custom task or fixlet which i create does not come this checkbox selected automatically when i add into in baseline but other default fixlet / tasks having this check box selected automatically whenever i add into baseline? why it so?

Hmm, no idea, never noticed that before

Please see the following:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSQL82_9.5.0/com.ibm.bigfix.doc/Platform/Console/c_creating_or_customizing_baseli.html

The check box Baseline will be relevant on applicable computers where this component is relevant is used to tell whether the related component (Task or Fixlet) makes the baseline relevant on those computers where that component is relevant. The default value is unchecked for Tasks and checked for Fixlets.

This is because it often does not make sense to gauge the applicability of the baseline due to a task which isn’t necessarily addressing a given issue.
