While it’s certainly possible to achieve this via our APIs, if you’re looking to automate various aspects of the workflow associated with Patch management (such as baseline maintenance, etc…), I would highly recommend exploring the Patch Policy application.

Hi,
I am looking for a system to help me to automate the installation of security-patches for all my Window-servers. I seems like BigFix is a good tool for this. but I need some help to get started. What I want is to use BigFix so that all critical and important patches from Microsoft will be installed automatically on the servers during a weekly maintenance windows.
Can anyone give some help, links to documentation, on how to set up this?

I know that according to the BigFix Health Check page the max number of components a baseline should have is 100. If i have a long deployment window (ie. 3 weeks) what would be the impact of deploying a baseline with 300+ components? Are there other factors to consider other than deployment window length? Or am i just better off splitting the baseline in 2 or 3 and sequencing them? I’m trying to figure out the best approach to getting an environment patch compliant as quickly as possible.
