Thanks Rkc, i will try and let you know.
i would like to know one of my primary relay is having more download folder’s , i got failed error message in performance health check status.
i tried to deploy task to remove more than download folder, its failed. i come to know from forum by using downloadclener.exe to delete all folder. i tried bigfix site no such download.

Did you run the download folder cleaner on the BES Server first?
You need to run it once on the BES Server, it creates a data file that the relays can download and use to do cleanup themselves.

Hi Tyler thanks,
where i can download download folder cleaner ?

You should use Fixlet (535) “WARNING: BES Server/Relays Have Too Many Download Folders” in the BES Support site to run the download folder cleaner tool. There is also a link to it from the health check. The main thing is that you need to run it once on the BES Server first and then you can run it on the BES Relays.
If you want to try running it manually, the link for the download is in the actionscript of the Fixlet.

Hi Tyler,
metioned fixlet is not relevant Main BES server, it’s relevant only one of my relay.

Hi Tyler
i tried my main BES Server , i got 0 folder deleted. Please find the logs
F:>BESDownloadsCleaner.exe
Connect to database…
Finding action ids in the database… this could take a minute…Done!
Found 101951 expired actions, finding and deleting folders… Done!
Deleted 0 folders.
but it seems 101951 expired actions is there, but i had deleted all expired actions in console.
why it’s shows now ?

Ah, ok. So, probably when you did the server migration or something else you caused the download folder count on the BES Server to reset but that didn’t help the BES Relays. So, now you do need to run the tool on the Server first but it isn’t relevant.
So, you need to run it on the BES Server first, to do this, click to deploy the Fixlet and in the ‘Take Action’ dialog, go to the ‘Applicability’ tab and select the second radio button ‘…the following relevance clause evaluates to true’. Then edit the relevance to just be ‘true’ and on the target tab select the BES Server.
Your action should correctly run on the BES Server and then you can redeploy to the BES Relays.

Hi Tyler,
I tried , this fixlet says not relevant to main BEs Server. i tried to point manually Main BES Server on target tab, but it says 0 Applicable Computers.
How can i resolve thos problem.
(imported comment written by SystemAdmin)
Right, try just typing in the computer name using the third radio option on the Targeting tab for a list of computer.
Be sure to change the applicability relevance to just be ‘true’.
That should allow the Fixlet to run on the BES Server. Go ahead and give support a call for help if you still aren’t able to get it to run.

Just wondering how I should handle my upcoming migration. Backup and restore to new hardware or setup totally new server and run task to switch mastheads over to new box.
I’ve got a lot of fixlets and whatnot to move over so I’m wondering what my best bet is… It would be nice to start with a clean database but it’s never fun moving

Hey Richard,
In my opinion, it would be easier to use the same license and migrate the database to a new server… Starting a new server with a new license is always difficult.
