Automatic Groups - don't show offline computers

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi at all,

i’ve created an automatic group based on subnet mask, but i can’t see all the offline computers, it’s normal ?

Thanks in advice.

As far as I know, the machines themselves evaluate if they should be in that group. Therefore, they have to respond back at least once in order to be a part of that group.

In other words, if a computer is online and responds that it is in that group, but then goes offline, it will still show there. If it was never online since you created that automatic group, there is no way it can evaluate if it should be in that group.

Does that make sense?
