Can BigFix be used as a master asset management system? I know it inventories IP-based systems well, but my company has the need to track other assets such as projectors, TVs, DVD players, video gear, etc. Can BigFix handle that?
If not, is there a third-party or partner solution that can integrate with BigFix to handle these requirements?

BigFix is designed for giving you the real-time views of your environment like hardware properties, installed apps, running apps, IP devices (using Asset Discovery), vulnerability status, and so on… BigFix doesn’t have an ability to track assets that are not on the network and don’t have an agent…
We find that our customers use all sorts of Asset Databases to import the data from BigFix into these systems. I know some of our customers use home-grown solutions or one of many other asset database solutions. The integration piece with BigFix is usually just exporting the data from the BES database, which is pretty straightforward (like dump the contents to CSV and import into the other system or directly query the database).
