I have a system where a group of users in Active Directory can be targeted for application deployment. This system is old and its time to move on. Is this something BigFix can do? Does BigFix have an Active Directory connection for targeting?

Can somebody give a good overview description or direct me to publication?

Hi tigrank,

Yes. This is a native capability of BES 7.0… You can target by users for local/domain users (in addition to targeting by computer OUs).

How about if I don’t have an Active Directory? I only have some of Workgroup. Could I use remote application deployment to a targeted group of user?

Hi Matdsu,

Sure. If you want to use local user groups, you can use the “Add Local Group” option and it will use the groups defined on the local computer.
