Not as bad as I thought. Iā€™d figure IE 9+ would work unless it is in compatibility mode, though I have no actual clue since I havenā€™t used IE voluntarily in at least 5 years. (although, Iā€™m not sure anyone truly uses IE voluntarily)

FF works fine, with or without firewall filtering. All the icons, exactly as described. Stupid Microsoftā€¦

What are the minimum browser requirements?

Discourse is designed for the next 10 years of the Internet, so the minimum browser requirements are high:

  • Internet Explorer 10+
  • Google Chrome 24+
  • Firefox 14+
  • Safari 5.1+

We do officially support Internet Explorer 9, but some functionality will be unavoidably broken.

Fyi when I try IE 11, the option buttons on a comment are invisible (but they are present and do work correctly). Works much better in Chrome, on desktop or mobile.

In similar situation. Site files usage not much documentation but does not work for our business. Running RHEL6 testing possibility to xfer files to source server that is secure and under configuration management. Creating BF action script that has parameter prompts for source server, source dir and source files. Script will check parms, check if files/dirs exist, create file backups, then copy files from source to target (target selection is via BF). This should be good and have a decent audit trail, making security, configuration management and end users happy.
