Action Regenerator (API Not Installing)

Hi there,

I have a couple of small problems. We are undergoing an evaluation of BigFix AntiVirus but :

  1. Running the API Install package (BigFix Enterprise Suite API.msi), gives the error “Error -2: Transform Package”. This means we cannot use the action regenerator, and as such the Anti Virus tests cannot be fullfilled.

  2. The following fixlet appeared recently : "The listed computers are subscribed to the retired “BigFix AntiVirus (powered by CA eTrust)” Fixlet site. The site has been replaced by the new “BigFix AntiVirus” Fixlet site and will no longer be updated or supported by BigFix. Please contact your BigFix sales representative for information on how to migrate to the new site. " What is the best way of obtaining this?

If anyone has any ideas on these, I’d be most grateful.

Hi Craig,

  1. It sounds like you might have corrupt download of the msi file. Have you tried downloading a new copy? If you are still having trouble, please start a support case.

  2. As noted, please contact you sales rep to obtain the new masthead. You’ll find the new version is vastly improved over the earlier site you are currently evaluating.

Also… make sure to run “setup.exe” instead of clicking on the .msi file.
