Hi Lee,

The web reports is simply a HTTP server and so your network rules will completely determine whether it is accessible outside your LAN or on VPN. If you want to make it available, you probably need to work with your network team to establish access.

Note that you can set up “Scheduled Activities” to email reports from web reports to any email address.

Being a security engineer who supports firewalls - I would not recommend punching a hole in your firewall to allow any access to your BF server. The less holes the better. I agree with Ben to set a schedule activity and have it emailed to you (providing you have web mail access back into your company). Or maybe send the report to an FTP server.

If you happen to have a BF Relay on your DMZ - then you could lock down http(s) access to just that one system to gain access to the web reports. But still there is risk. Otherwise your BF Server probably has a non-Internet routable IP address and you would have to NAT it at the firewall and allow HTTP (hopefully more like HTTPS) to it. If you did that and your BF server was compromised - head for the Panic Room!
