2nd root deployment steps

Hi, we are starting the installation of a new bigfix v11.0.3 deployment hosted on 2 Windows Root servers with a remote MSSQL database (Not DSA). We completed this deployment type 5 years ago but now having challenges during installation.

New Authorization file generating a new license and new masthead. Then:

root1:

  1. Install BES Server, Single/Master Database option, Remote database.
  2. Install BES Console
  3. Stop bes services
  4. run ServerKeyTool.exe /decrypt and copy decrypted files to Root2

Root2:

  1. ServerKeyTool.exe with /encrypt of files
  2. Install BES Server, Single/Master Database option, Remote database.
  3. Install BES Console

In this latest attempt with the steps above, I was able to login to the BES Console on root2 but a a minute or 2 later started getting Bad Credentials prompt. I then closed the console and was not able to login nor login to BESAdmin.

Is there some step we are missing between root1 and Root2 install steps to prepare the database for a 2nd root server?

Either I don’t understand what you’re trying to do, or you’re trying to do something that doesn’t work.

You can’t have two BigFix servers online at the same time using the same database.
